What do you mean by "ultra"?
Were Supreme Court Justices John M. Harlan, Arthur Goldberg, William Brennan, and Chief Justice Earl Warren ultra-right-wing dickweeds? Please look at the following written in 1961 by U.S. Supreme Court Justice John M. Harlan on the topic of whether or not married couples have a constitutional right to use contraceptives.
" ... The right of privacy most manifestly is not absolute. Thus, I would not suggest that adultery, homosexuality, fornication, and incest are immune from criminal enquiry, however privately practiced. So much has been explicitly recognized in acknowledging the State's rightful concern for its people's moral welfare. But not to discriminate between what is involved in this case and either the traditional offenses against good morals or crimes which, though they may be committed anywhere, happen to have been committed or concealed in the home, would entirely misconceive the argument that is being made.
Adultery, homosexuality, and the like are sexual intimacies which the State forbids altogether, but the intimacy of husband and wife is necessarily an essential and accepted feature of the institution of marriage, an institution which the State not only must allow, but which always and in every age it has fostered and protected. It is one thing when the State exerts its power either to forbid extra-marital sexuality altogether, or to say who may marry, but it is quite another when, having acknowledged a marriage and the intimacies inherent in it, it undertakes to regulate by means of the criminal law the details of that intimacy. ..." (Poe v. Ullman, 1961, dissenting opinion by Harlan)
Four years later, in 1965, Justice Arthur Goldberg wrote an opinion, joined by Chief Justice Warren and Justice Brennan, repeating what Justice Harlan had said (beginning at "Adultery, homosexuality, and the like ...")
Rick Santorum is a lawyer. He has probably read these passages.

I wouldn't count Santorum out yet.
But even if Casey wins, I'm pleased to note that your new senator will be a strong supporter of family values, an active practicing Catholic, a defender of the right to life, and an opponent of gay marriage.
I hope that won't displease you and your liberal friends too much!

Although I don't approve of your name calling, I hope Sen. Santorum looses. I think Bob Casey has a better than 50% chance of winning. However, this will be a close race.
My opinion is that Santorum needs to loose in order to reduce the Republican majority in the Senate (sadly, I doubt the Democrats will take the Senate; maybe the House).
Consider volunteering for Bob Casey's campaign. They'll need help for get-out-the-vote activities as election day approaches.

That site is a fairly bad copy of a site set up to track polls leading up to the last Presidential election. 'Electoral' refers to the electoral collage which is only involved in Presidential elections. Given my experience with the real site and your link. I doubt the site owner could find a real poll if you paid him.

There is some poetic justice here isn't there ? Of course we nailed DeLay here in Texas too. Bob Ney is going down in flames in Ohio and how about that Rand Duke Cunningham. Wonder who his cellmate is. Weasels OUT OUT OUT....!

You want more illegal aliens invading your state? Then don't vote for him. You probably like Arlen Spector, don't you? Santorum is good for your state and good for the country. But hey! It's a democracy, and that's what it's all about, right?

a) Don't be so intolerant of the man. I'm sure he's a nutjob but he probably has many good qualities, like being a loving father, etc.
b) With all hope, he will leave the senate.

That is pretty cool, but there is still a lot of time left for this board to change. I hope Casey wins to, but I am not eligible to vote.
