Say u want to apply to UCLA now as a senior with a GPA of 4.1 what if the requirements were 4.25. But if I get all A's first and second semester then I would have 4.4GPA but will they take the 4.1(sophmore plus Junior year combined) or 4.4 first and second semester ?

good question. I just asked my counselor a few days ago regarding this question. over here, GPA only counts up to whenever you have to apply, which is usually in januaryish. thus, it will probably only be the first semester of your senior year. however, there is no limit to the UCLA GPA limit. there are many people who even attend harvard with a GPA below 4.0. your GPA of 4.1 is definately enough of UCLA as long as you have high SAT scores, or extracurricular activities, and such. GPA is not the determining factor, dont stress out over it. besides, they usually want the GPA without the excess school points, since they are different for each school. thus, you'll end up with a 4.0 anyway if you have straight A's. dont worry, no big deal, although it might affect your class rank.

If you apply in the Spring, they will consider the first semester of Senior year. Otherwise, they may or may not. With a 4.1 though, U should be able to get into UCLA easily.

Yes it does count but a 4.1 GPA is really good and I'm sure you'll be able to get into UCLA. Keep in mind colleges and universities also look at your ACT or SAT scores as well as any extra curricular activities you were involved in.

My recommendation to you is for you to see your counseling advisor in your high school to find out what are specific requirements for entering UCLA because it is a very tough university to enter if you have a GPA below a 4.0

yes GPA count cuz even after you get in you have to send your final grades. you are on the right track just keep it up. GPA is not everything i hope you have some volunteer work and extracurricular.

I think when i was applying they only counted the first half of my senior year of highschool grades on my applications, but then i had to send them my final transcript to prove i graduated even after i was accepted.

My high school principal says, "everything counts". All of your years of high school will count when you apply for college.
