Go with the 125. After you learn how to ride, the physical size of the cr85 will feel like a baby's bike. 125 MX bikes have come a long way since the inception of a single rear shock. The power curve is more predictable and there is plenty of low end power (low rpm's) for slow riding.

If you're looking for a beginner trail bike, it's not the right choice - you're tall enough to go with a standard-wheel bike - which will track much better in the rough stuff.

If you're looking for a beginner mx'er, it will probably be lots of fun for your first ride. Best part about having an undersized bike is that when you drop it, it's easy to pick up and get going again. Fun to have something that you have complete control over!

The 125 will demand more respect.

If you've owned other bikes, and are looking to step up - then, yes, the 85 is too small for 5'11" - but okay for your weight.

Yes, get the 125. An 85 would be more along the lines of a 11-13 year old or younger.

Depending on how old you are I would go with no less than a 125
