i want to block some websites from being accessed on my computer...however, i want to change it in the internet settings....not to download software...is this possibe???

that didn't work for me..i even tried restarting...
-if someone KNOWS how to change that back, and delete the site off the block list.....then???.....

so what i'm asking i guess.....is....
is there a way to block a website, without someone being able to change the setting back, unless they had a password

Put on your HOSTS file the sites you want to block. For example to block www.yahoo.com, you will put on your HOSTS file:

127.0.0.1 www.yahoo.com

Then test on your browser if it works.

See link for reading about it and the location where to look to this file. The problem with this is that if they know about it, they can change it back!

You asked which you don't want to download anything but the MORE secured are those ready-made out there.

If you are thinking this is for kids, then consider using kid-safe browsers like KIDSPLORER.

top of page go to tools/internet options/security tab then the restricted sites tab .
you can add web sits to a list in there and this should block them out.
