I don't know why the NL Central has 6 teams. They need to even things out and put Colorado or Arizona in the AL West.

That is an interesting stat by Roger K. I wonder if he could provide a link. Parity does seem to be winning out in baseball. It seems that the huge differences in payroll are often not equally reflected in talent level. Teams are probably much more advanced in scouting and player development, which helps to level the playing field. Even teams like the Yankees and Red Sox require significant reliance on their own farm systems to compete. Of course, as a Yankee fan, I won't lie, I would much prefer a season like 1998 when the Yankees were a rampaging juggernaut. But, I would say that increased parity would be great for the overall excitement and popularity of baseball, as well as, for the fans of smaller-market teams.
