and only the girl when she becomes pregnant as a teenager. Does society fail to realize that it takes two? This was more prevalent back in the 50's and 60's, but it still goes on today. A girl needs support at this time, not condemnation, and if people would be more supportive, maybe we would have less instances of babies in garbage cans, or abandoned at hospitals. What is your opinion?

Men have the option of not trying to get their girlfriends to open their legs as well, and they also have just as much responsilbility in using birth control as women do. I am not saying the have no responsibility, but it does not rest completely on their shoulders. Shame on you for thinking that it does.

how does a woman have more control of the situation, when in most cases the man is bigger, stronger, more manipulative. Many men use the intimidation factor, if you don;t have sex with me, i don;t want to be with you, playing on his girlfriends fear of being alone. If in fact that girl has a fear of being alone.

when I said babies in garbage cans, I was being literal, if i had been speaking about abortion, I would have said abortion. I am asking the question based on girls who carry their pregnancies to term.

Personally, I agree with you entirely. Two people were involved and two people should have to deal with the consequences. However, since guys are expected to be after sex and girls are expected to value their virginity, guys are rarely blamed. It's a sad double-standard in our society that guys are pushed to have sex while girls are pushed to stay pure (and interestingly enough, both can't be accomplished at the same time lol).

its both. now, we've all been in a moment, when things have gone 2 far (without the appropriate protection), it happens, its human instinct. however, a guy that splits at the thought of a baby is gutless. he enjoyed the sex that created their new problem. having babies early is still relatively taboo, although i know of many family's who had a child at 16 or 17, stayed together, worked hard, made some money, got married, had more children, and are now happy and successful. im not encouraging, but sometimes it is possible to work. the guy and the girl are equally responsible, it just so happens that the poor girl has to walk around with a billboard of a stomache, proclaiming her pregnancy, where the guy is immune to the sniggers, looks and glares.

Ok so I'm watching Bill O'reilly the other night (yeah i know weird black girl loving o'reilly) and he's just spewing about the birth rate of un-wed black mothers and blah blah blah. I mean honestly people who get's married these days. And yes i am a single black mother as my mother is and her mother and her mother. He acted like he just found out black people arent to marry happy. Obviously nobody is look at the divorce rate. Ok sorry for venting back to your question. How can you blame a young girl its not like she set there with a condom and forced the nut in her. lol. I say blame the parents (no i am not a teen mom). Not just the girls parent the guys to. Mothers dont be afraid once your daughter gets or periods or starts liking boys thats an open forum for you to let her know wassup. If there trying to give 6 year olds vaccines for HPV why cant u talk to you 11 year old about sex? Why cant you tell your son about condoms and what sperm is and why its bad to the the spermies out of a condom. Kids these days there just not kids anymore. I wish the parents would become more involved. My mom always kept it simple in straight sex=babies=homeless or sex=aids

The aids part I really listened to its the scariest thing in the world if you have to use scare tactics use them people

It may take two but each individual is responsible for taking the proper steps to protect their body and avoid issues like stds, pregnancy, and etc. Teenagers make dumb and foolish decisions but they aren't completely to blame. The parents need to take credit as well. Some parents are not as open to certain issues and some children act to fast before giving parents the chance to react in a proper way. What teenager don't understand is that it is not a parents responsibility to be their best friends but to more of a protector, a hand that guides and loves u. So sorry if u don't get the outcome at thee end of the rainbow u were looking for but parents also deserve the chance to come back and reevaluate the situation so the best advice can be given. Parents are ur best friend from the time of conception. As far as society goes opinions r like assholes and everybody's got one, they don't count. If u approach the people who love u the correct way before u make bad decision they will respect u more and think more of u even if they are mad at you at the given time of the decision. At least u came to them, the people u love and love u back before you do something dumb. for example.
Mom or dad or who ever, i need to talk to u and u might not be happy with the issue we are about to decuss but i knew it is best to talk u rather than and outsider. So please hear me out and try to put ur anger aside for the moment to help me before i make a mistake or after i have already made a mistake. Sometime it is not timing that counts but thee approach.

It's the old double standard. It's okay for a guy to have sex as much as he wants. It's a status symbol. But if a girl does the same thing, she's easy or worse. A few years ago a guy actually said, "This girl got herself pregnant". It's guys like him who are more than willing to be involved in the fun part and insist on NOT using protection, but if their activities lead to a pregnancy half (not all) of them won't take responsibility for their actions.

I am 32 and childless. I have been married for 10 years but when the subject of children comes up, it is basically my body carrying the child and I insist that we have protection when we have sexual intercourse. I know I do not want a child so I do everthing I can not to get pregnant.

The man does not get pregnant, the woman does so she must make sure that if she takes responsibility for the sexual act, she should make sure he doesnt become pregnant.

I mean, I dont think it is all up the female, but she is the one wsho ultimately will be having the child, so in order to not have a child, make sure you use caution and protection.

I don't agree with this, but I've found that society believes that women are suppose to be more responsible. The society is a man's world. In most cases men do not, and will not assume responsibility for their actions.

My mother used to tell me when I was a teenager, that a man goes as far as the woman wants. You are right though it takes two to tango, but I still agree that a woman has more control of the situation than a man. Considering that is consentual.

Men are to blame too. Guys who run off are considered ******* and deadbeats. Many young women keep their babies and do fine. The ones that put their babies in trash cans usually have mental problems to begin with. You should never give a flying fcuk what anyone thinks.

because in this day almost every girl knows to protect herself, most that get pregnant do it to keep a man out of a childish immature thought pattern..

sure the bloke should protect himself too, but if she's to dumb to realise the fact, that if she gets pregnant theres no guarantee's the bloke will stick around then she is tooooooo young to be doing it.

and dont refer to abortion as "babies in garbage cans" Abortion is legal and fetus's are aborted NOT babies!
