I don't have Verizon (Sprint's the only carrier with service in my area), but Consumer Reports rated Verizon #1 (their ratings are based on their customer surveys) Consumer Reports subscribers rate all kinds of products on their annual surveys (750,000 subscribers last year). Mobile phone companies were rated by geographical area in about 4 or 5 things--Verizon was 1st everywhere.

EXCELLENT. I have service out of NJ but have no problem in NY, PA and all the way up to Maine. I do not, and a lot of people I know agree, recommend the Razor phone. It sucks. Battery doesn't hold a charge very long, has problems with the Blue Tooth ear piece at times. Go with an LG model phone. Much better. Dial *228 once a month to update your roaming area for any new towers that are put up in your area. It prevents you from hitting dead zones.

I've had verizon for about 6 years now, and I've got no problems. My calls don't drop, and I get service anywhere I travel. No roaming or long distance charges doesn't hurt either.

I switched to verizon from t-mobile about 6 months ago. I am pleased, but mainly because the coverage is so good in my area. You can go on their website and enter your zip code to see how good the coverage is where you live (or in my case, where I spend most of my time).
