We rescued a kitten a few months ago, and omg, the little creature has peed everywhere, how I know is I can smell it. It is not spray, thank God, but urine, we want to shampoo the carpets all of it, but wonder if there is a good solution to use in the machine to effectively get out the smell. Also, what solution can I use for spot cleaning. I tried that Urine Gone, and it sucked. Any help would be fantastic. Thanx so much!

Of course I can take a joke, BUT, this kitty is my daughters and she adores that creature, and I would never have the heart to get rid of it because we are the ones who rescued it. It has since been litter box trained, with maybe the occasional accident, but if you would have seen this kitten when we got it, wow, no fur, bug eyes, ick! I didnt think it would make it through the night let alone to now. Its small for age but healthy, furry and lives for my daughter!! She carries it around on her shoulder unless she is at school, which it then sits on the edge of her bed till she gets home, now thats true devotion. Sorry for the ramble!

Nature's Miracle worked best for us, followed by Simple Solutions, for odor removal. But we still wound up throwing away $600.00 worth of carpet and padding because it went through the carpet , padding and also soaked the hardwood floor. On a humid day, the odor would knock you out.
The carpet had to come out, and we at least were able to get the smell out of the floor ,first with Nature's Miracle, then scrubbed the wood with bleach before putting down vinyl.
For those who say get rid of the kitten, it's not the kitten's fault. You're special people for rescuing it, and unfortunately, some of them are little pee machines.
If it's a little kitten and perhaps the urine hasn't soaked through all the layers (yet), do try Nature's Miracle. It's a little pricey, but it was the only thing out of all the products that worked without ruining the carpet with more stains. If all else fails, and the carpet's ruined anyway, bleach will at least get the stench out.
I'm sorry the news wasn't any better, but we have tried EVERYthing, and finally resorted to vinyl floors here at our shelter. We all just have to deal with cold feet every winter :-) Good luck to you, and blessings for taking in the little kitten.

From my past experiences, I have found that vinegar works with some success. Apple cider vinegar seems to be the most effective. After you have cleaned the area with vinegar, use Arm & Hammer baking soda to remove any left over scent. Finally keep the cat away from the area for several days. Cats have a very strong sense of smell. Keep an eye on your cat, if your not comfortable with the results just spray a little vinegar in the area, that will cover up any remaining cat scent.

When we brought our new dog home one of my cats got mad and started peeing on the carpet. He stopped thank god, but getting the smell out is nearly impossible. I shampooed the carpet several times along with spot cleaning and could still smell it. And yes I also used urine gone and it made the smell worse. Finally I made my own solution of baking soda (to neutralize the acid in the urine), febreeze (to make it smell good) and water. The stuff worked miracles. I put it in my carpet cleaner where the cleaning solution goes. Hope it helps!

First, get rid of the cats.
Second, rent a carpet shampoo machine. Purchase the
required cleaning solution to use in the carpet shampoo machine plus a pet deodorized additive. If the pet urine smell is really bad, use twice the recommended amount of pet deodorizer chemical. Shampoo your carpets and then open your windows to air out the house. Let the windows stay open for one whole day until the carpets (and pads underneath) are totally dry. You should be pleased with the results.

vinegar and water mix trust me vinegar neutralizes any smell i have had an animal rescue going on in my house for 15 yrs there isn't an animal that has not peed on my floor carpet in the car vomit you name it vinegar and water works every time and it costs pennies to make you also can use for you glass as well when you walk into my house you can not tell most people do not even know i have animals unless of course i have a large amount at that particular time and they are kinda hard to miss but you can never smell them vinegar and water works on any smell. i would not have been in business this long without it. i hate fowl smells . it is something i could never get used to. try it you can thank me tomorrow . oh and litter train your cat. when you see him making a mess tell him no firmly and then put him in the litter box they much prefer it any way.

The smell won't come out. You can try and use oxi-clean in your steam cleaner, but you might want to wipe your walls down with bleach and water mix, cause sometimes kittens might spray on the walls at times.
Your best bet would be to remove the carpet or steam clean every few days and hope you get used to the smell.

My cat once did that and all you have to do is shampoo the carpets and spray "oust" or any other disinfect spray but don't use air freshener unless you like urine and flowers after atleast 2 days you use it.Then buy a litter box and train it or atleast try to use some of your free time instead of watching t.v. to train the cat to be potty trained

NIL ODOUR.
ANYTHING CITRUS WILL DEFINATELY TAKE OUT ODOURS SO TRY USING 100% CITRUS ESSENTIAL OILS AND PLACE A KITTY LITTER IN THE MOST COMMON AREA THAT IS BEING URINATED ON.
