The oil companys run Bush and there are multiple reasons the gas is going down.
1. It is fall and people travel less gas prices naturally fall about 5cents around this time.
2. It is just before elections and the oil companys still want their people in office.
3. The prices were high becuase of a false fear that was created by Bush trying to push Iran around. That caused the traders to run the price of crude up to protect their profits. This caused the record profits.
4. I am very happy to see them dropping they will continue to drop possibly after the election more than likley not.

And the upcoming elections have nothing to do with it either . We will see come December whom is right . Are you capable of admitting there are political overtones to big gas company's? The president has the most powerful office in the world . ( as demonstrated by the recent war ) . If he wishes to have gas prices reduced a simple " Deal you cant refuse " ! Would work . After all he does this constantly to other country's . why not OPEC or big OIL ? Wake up .

Isn't it convenient that they go down close to an election? I doubt it will last unless we get a Democrat to make things right.
"The Bush administration's ties to oil and gas are as deep as an offshore well. President George W. Bush's family has been running oil companies since 1950. Vice President Dick Cheney spent the late '90s as CEO of Halliburton, the world's largest oil services company. National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice sat on the board of Chevron, which graced a tanker with her name. Commerce Secretary Donald Evans was the CEO of Tom Brown Inc. -- a natural gas company with fields in Texas, Colorado and Wyoming -- for more than a decade.
The links don't end with personnel. The bin Laden family and other members of Saudi Arabia's oil-wealthy elite have contributed mightily to several Bush family ventures, even as the American energy industry helped put Bush in office. Of the top 10 lifetime contributors to George W.'s war chests, six either come from the oil business or have ties to it, according the Center for Public Integrity. "

Hmmm...Bush invades Iraq and destabilizes middle east and gas prices go way up and his buddies in the oil industry make lots-o-money. Then, just before midterm elections the oil companies suddenly drop prices...i'm sure it's just a coincidence.

Heck no! The price isn't changing if you look closer- we still damage the environment and ourselves. Costs a heck of a lot more than a hundred bucks. If lower prices are contributing to society's apathy towards waste, I'd recommend we either raise prices or have a brilliant activist motivate people to save the world.

I hope they are. All they did was complain about how Bush made prices go up.
Nobody mentioned Slick Willy's stock in oil companies. That would be wrong for a Dem to own stock let alone part of an OIL COMPANY!
