you are selling note cards an calenders for a school fundraiser.you have sold 15 items worth a total of $117.a box of note cards costs $10 an a calender costs $7.how many of each items hav u sold? plz help me

Let x be the number of notecards sold.
Let y be the number of calendars sold.

Your two equations are:
x + y = 15
10x + 7y = 117.

From the first equation, you get x = 15 - y
Plug that into the second equation:
10*(15-y) + 7y = 117

Solve that equation for y, then use the y-value to figure out x.
