If you're into classic rock (for ex. people like Zeppelin, The Who, Beatles, Clapton, Pink Floyd, Hendrix, Queen etc)

How'd you get into it?

Parents?
Older sibs?
Friends?
TV? Some music special that made you curious?
Internet? Random finding?

I know a lot of you are carrying the rock era torch high. Just curious to know how some of you found it. :)

PS

Just in case there's any confusion, the true classic rock era is basically 1964 to about 1981. So guys like Nirvana, Green Day, U2 & other don't "count".

I've been listening to Pink Floyd since I was conceived. Heck, "Great Gig in the Sky" might have been playing when my parents were getting their own gig set up.

But seriously, I LOVE British bands, especially if they ARE that time period you just said. I've went through quite a few transitions.

When I was 3, I loved the Beatles. How could a three year old not love them? Most of their older music is just so cute and innocent... nothing about feet below knees or anything, just that she loves me, yeah yeah yeah and that they all live in a yellow submarine.

I continued liking the Beatles deeply until about 6th grade, when for some reason, I broke from my Brits and went to the Eagles. I even sung (and totally bombed) Desperado at the talent show.

Then, in 7th grade, I started listening to Dark Side of the Moon over and over and over again, even though my parent's disk was scratched. I bought a copy of my own and I'm all Floyd now. I love the Animals and Meddle albums, and Syd Barrett is awesome to me (RIP, Roger Keith "Syd" Barrett! We miss you!). David Gilmour was a hunk. Nick Mason likes cars. Roger's the prick that thinks that oysters should not transcend national boundaries. Rick's the quiet, cute one. I don't obsess over Floyd. I LIVE them.
