All societies are industrial. The most advance industrial societies use natural resources more efficiently and lead the world in developing better methods of energy production. Yes the USA uses the most energy in the world, but we do more with it than any other country. Don't worry about using up the world. Mankind can live millions of more years without putting a dent in what the Earth and Sun can offer. Don't lose any sleep over running out of natural resources. Every person in the world can live comfortably within the borders of the US 48 states and we can be self-sufficient without using any other country's resources.

Things to think about - How much oil is used to raise cattle and other livestock, when the fields livestock are raised on would provide more food if grains and other crops were grown instead? Also, how much oil is used by militaries around the world to prepare for war, which will eventually likely be over oil anyway?

By the way - using somebody else's answer as your own is plagiarism.
