Do young teenage girls believe it's a sign of adulthood/womenhood?
Why do they want to burden themselves with kids when they should be concerning themselves with school and pursuing careers?

Teenage girls often confuse sex with love. They think that if someone wants to have sex with you then they love you. They often know the dangers of having unprotected sex, but yet they let their emotions overrule their common sense. Most often getting pregnant is an accident. Sometimes, the girls think that if they have a baby they will finally have someone to love them. They have seen no love at home. They are often abused. They are often depressed or have low self-esteem. It is really a sad thing. Parents can often prevent teenage pregnancy just by loving and nurturing their daughters. Fathers play a big role in this.

Because for some teenagers, their education doesn't matter knowing that they would never become anything else. It's hard for them to believe in themselves when the fail in education with no one the support them and put them on the right track. This is cause by their childhood perseptions and lessons in growing up. For example, teenagers are more likely to become pregnant with parents that were pregnant themselves when they were teenagers. I also blame america inability to strengthen our education system. For a world power, we are lagging behind in our high school education. I mean, people say that more money has been put into schools, but most of the money was put into hiring more teachers which doesn't leave a wage increase for the already experienced teachers.

Alot of teenage girls think that if they get pregnant they will, "have someone that will love them unconditionally" it is generally a sign that something is wrong at home. She is feeling neglected or unloved, and fails to see how a baby is actually work and not just a doll that she will be able to dress up and show off. It is also a way to get attention from other people, be it bad or good, it is attention and that is all that matters. My statement is regarding all the girls that WANT to get pregnant, which is who I think your question is directed at. For those that get pregnant by accident, it is ignorance or the lack of education regarding sex and birth control. Also it could be a lack of self esteem, letting their boyfriend have sex with them even if they don't want to because they fear losing him. Not making him wear a condom because they feel they do not have the right to stand up for themselves. Not all of it, is slut syndrome, as many people will say on here undoubtedly, sometimes we have to dig farther under the surface to see what is really going on, instead of just blaming the girls themselves. Yes they played apart in the situation, but we need to remember that other people did as well, and there are varying degrees of responsibility. From the parents who were too embarrassed to talk about sex and birth control, to the controlling boyfriend who threatened and or took advantage of his girlfriend, to the girl who just decided to hell with it I'm going to do what i want. It's not just the girls fault, and its time we all started realizing this and helping instead of hurting or placing blame.

no longer previously, it was once the norm for teenage ladies to get pregnant. Biologically, teenage ladies are meant to get pregnant. So the greater effective question may well be, "Why is it unexpectedly seen unacceptable for teenage ladies to be pregnant?" i think of finding into that question may well be much greater suitable for a sociology paper than the two a) a team of evaluations from overly judgmental human beings, or b) actual stuff consisting of having unprotected intercourse .

firstly, i think its wrong to label it as a girls problem, its a two party responsibility. i totally agree, but in the heat of the moment, accidents do happen, then an individual might be too afraid to admit they have stuffed up, or ask for help. i know when i first started having sex, there was no way i could ever say "hey mum, had unprotected sex last night/condome broke, if you dont wanna be a grandma soon, could u plz take me to get the morning aftr pill? ta!".... it doesnt happen!

A lot do it to have someone who loves them unconditionally. A really stupid reason. And the biggie, unprotected sex (It won't happen to me) Others, to keep their BFs forever, another stupid reason. If we as a society do not get it under control, they 2 parent family will be a thing of the past.

From what I've seen on talk shows, it's to have a little someone that'll love them no matter what. So it might have to do with feeling unloved and they aren't aware of what all they have to expect from motherhood.
