Well, how regular are you, normally? If you're very regular, you may be ready to take the test, however, if it hasn't been long since you think you may have become pregnant, it may be too early to tell.

If you are only 3 days late that isn't anything to be too worried about. If you have been stressed out to the max lately then this could contribute to you being late. As well as not eating properly or getting enough sleep. If you become more than a week late take a pregnancy test and if it is negative and you still haven't gotten your period then I would suggest taking a second test a week later and if it shows negative again, and you still haven't started your period then I would call your gynocologist to set up an appointment. Some women during the first few months don't carry the HCG horomone (pregnancy horomone) at levels that all home pregnancy tests can pick up. At your dr they can do a blood test as well as an exam to see if you are pregnant or what is causing you to be so late.
Good luck

I hear ya. I'm 2+ weeks over due myself. Took a test after the 1st week and 2nd. Both negative. THANK GOD. Age plays a big part on it, I skipped practically 3 years in my early 20's. Now in my early 40's seems history is repeating itself. I found out one of my grandmothers had a similar cycle. Take the test, wait a week, take another. Still negative, talk with female family members to see how their cycles were at your age. Also, make an appt. with an OB/GYN. Good luck.

Stop stressing over it if it has only been late 3 days. Stress will just prolong the waiting game-so if you haven't started by 7 to 10 more days I would definitely take a pregnancy test. If you know for sure your not pregnant 100% sure, then you need to make an apt. with your Dr.

Remain as calm as possible, I know thats not easy, but stress can cause you to be late. Hormones can cause you to be late. Lots of things can cause you to be late. Taking a pregnancy test at this stage in the game can give you a false negative. If you want to test anyways it would be best to get one of the early pregnancy tests that are advertised that are made for very early detection. I would also suggest that you get two test if you can afford it, because if the first comes up negative it would be best to retest in a week.

First up, if you don't want to be pregnant then stop having unprotected sex. Maybe Bob Barker should mention that children are also pets. It would eliminate this kind of question.
But to properly answer your question, wait the week. Then go to your doctor, not the pharmacy. Get the official test and if you come up clean get on the pill. Stop playing Russian roulette with your body. The guys aren't shooting blanks, even if they say they are.

Most store-bought pregnancy tests are not really accurate until about a week or so after a missed period. Wait and then take one.

say what? Are you talking about being pregnant? Then yes, go ahead and take a test. If it's negative, and you still don't get your period in another week, take another one. After that, call your gyno either way.

well if you think your pregnant then take a test...if you think it's normal wait a week or two...you could be just late...the start of a new school year, or a change in routine can throw you off!
