I think he deserved it. I don't mean to be rude or anything, but that guy was an asshole. He treated animals like they were toys. He had no respect for them. I have swam with rays 3 times already and I can tell you that they must be one of the most peaceful creatures in the world. They will let you touch them, they will swim with you and won't harm. This moron must have provoked the ray that's why it killed him. He always provoked animals, which no one who loves them would do. That aligator stuff he was pulling, God! My friend works with gators in Everglades in FL, he said what this guy was doing was extremmely irresponsible. Irwin was full of ****. Everything he did to animals was just for his stupid show. My dad is a vet and he treats animals with RESPECT!!! Finally, the world is rid of him. I think he sucked!!!

The death of any human being is sad regardless of how they died. I do not agree with your answer although I respect your opinion. He left behind a wife and 2 small children so I am deeply sad over that. I do not know enough about the animals you speak of to make an intelligent decision so I wont comment about what he did or how he did it. Remember though, he was an entertainer. What he did and the way he did it was TO ENTERTAIN. He might have not done things the way some people might have liked it but no, he did not deserve to die and I am sure he will be missed by many to include his small children.

I think it was a little "over the top" that after his death he was hailed as a "conservationist" who LOVEEED animals so much. He could just as well be considered a profiteer who harassed animals in their own habitat for fame and money.

He frequently said he caught all those crocodiles to move them to safe locations away from humans, but many seemed to end up in his private zoo where they were taunted for the amusement of paying customers.

One the one hand we would stress how dangerous the crocodiles were and how dangerous it was to be that close to them. Then when there was the sh*tstorm over him holding his baby while he teased the crocodile, all of a sudden his story became, "there is no real danger..."

I'll admit that he was entertaining, but unlike so many other people I don't think he deserves sainthood!

I saw nothing wrong with it, yes, he came on strong at times, jumping around, but he didnt harass nor treat them as toys. He didnt deserve death. The only people who deserve death are those who have caused it. And, he has swam with sting rays more than 60 times (read it) and it just happened to be the un-lunk of the draw.
Like I said, he didnt deserve death. And running around animals is what he did for a living. Did he ever hurt or kill ana nimal on purpose? No. He didnt. The only poor thing is that people say he died Buddhist or Atheist. Hope to God he died a Christian.

That is completley rude, everything you said. You are the asshole moron! He did not "deserve it", he was a great human being who never hurt anyone and he cared about the planet so much. He never exploited animals just for his show, he did his shows to teach people about animals and the environment. He didn't care about fame or money, he never used his money or his fame for conspicuous consumption, he used them to educate people about and protect the environment and wildlife. Have some respect for him, I'm glad his wife and children won't be reading your rude and insensitive comments about him.

That's cruel and insensitive for you to say. I admired Steve Irwin because he was brave enough to pursue something that was his passion.

It's so easy for others to say he was naive for putting himself in harms way of animals but, everyday we live we are always at risk of something happening to us no matter how cautious we are.

I respect Steve Irwin's sacrafice to learn more about animal life and I learned alot from him.

Your points are valid, but I disagree that he deserved to die. He could have been disabled and thereby forced to quit his interactions with animals. I think rejoicing at someone's death is sick.

It is a tragic event; my heart goes out to his wife and two small children who will miss their husband or father. He died very young.

I think you suck. You should learn how to show respect for the dead. Did you know him personally? No. Then don't criticize.
