Turn the -5 into +5 then move over to the y place, so it would be y+5=3x then divide the 3 from both sides and leave x on that same side, so your equation should look like y+5/3=x. This is if you are solving for the x-value. Another point to remember is that then you divide the 3 with the y and the +5.

Because the y-value of now means 1y so divide and the answer you should get is .333y repeating +5=x. So this is your solution.
