Hey, it's not difficult. Get you digital camera, get a buddy, go out at night when the stars are shining and take a flash picture of your buddy with some background sky.

I'll give you a million dollars if you get any stars in that picture.

You don't need a photographer to tell you this. Anyone who has spent 5 minutes with a serious camera will know.

If you have any friends or relatives who are stupid and naive enough to believe that the moon landings were not real, tell them to go read the history of the American space program up to 1972, before they cast their idiot opinions. A good book is "Apollo", by David West Reynolds. Tell them to read it all, and then come back and tell you it was faked.

All the people who think the moon landings were faked know absolutely nothing about it. To have an opinion like that on something that was so complex and involved so many people (400,000) is just about as ignorant as you can get.

The stars have been 'washed away' by the brightness of the moon surface. This question is best answered by a photographer, but it has to do with the exposure of the film. To put it simply, it is the same reason why we can't see stars during the day. Some people believe that the fact that there are no stars proves that the moon landing was a hoax - but it wasn't. Please see the following website for a more detailed explanation as to why there are no stars in the pictures:

Hmmm ... I assume you mean why are there NOT any stars (except for our star, the Sun) in the background in the pictures from the moon landings?

Same reason you don't see stars when you take pictures on earth in daylight ... and remember that the moon pictures were all taken in daylight.

In daylight, the sunlight is so strong that you can't see the faint light coming from the other stars.

Of course, if you're a conspiracy kook, you could say that they forgot to put stars in the background when they faked the moon landings.

Astral Photography....taking pictures of very "dim" and "little" pinpoints of light. If the camera is set to take a picture of the moon, iss. sst, or any other group of letters in space, the aperture has to be stopped down or the main object would over expose and be a bright blur. Since it is stopped down so much, not enough light gets in for the stars to be in the picture. A time exposure would be needed and again the light from the main object would over expose it. There is no day light in space unless there is something to reflect the light back to our eyes. It is as the night starry sky. The sun has set and is on the other side of the earth but it is still shining around us (or you couldnt see the moon.) But you cant see the light itself.

Also, keep in mind, the moon doesn't have an atmosphere, therefore doesn't scatter light and thus the stars would appear smaller on the moon than they do to us here on Earth.

Hi. The camera's aperture was set for the foreground, not the background.

... for the same reason there are no stars seen behind the International Space Station photos. And yes, we really have been there!

I don't know, but don't believe any of this nonsense that the moon landings were faked.
