There are many romantic places to eat in St. Mark's Square after you take that romantic gondola ride.

I just came back from my vacation in Italy and I spent 2 days in Venice. Compared to other Italian cities, Venice is very expensive. We have been very unlucky with food bec we targeted the restaurants in main streets. My advice to you is to go deep inside the narrow streets and pick a small restaurant around any corner. Also try to look for restaurants that have many locals sitting down. You can then gurantee good quality food.

If you don't want to have a typical dinner, you can grab the sandwiches on the go for 3 euros on average and sit by the water front. Or take the food and rent one of those gondolas for a maximum of 80 euros an hour. ... Have fun.. it's a beautiful city. Totally out of this world, and extremely romantic.

what i liked about venice was wondering around looking for places.
I felt like that in itself was romantic, and wow did i ever get lost.
For GOOD food, i went to a place called grapo de uva. It was great, very pretty, but i dont recall there being low lighting which i associate with being romantic.
