What is the difference between a tax consultant, a chartered accountant and auditor et. al?

A chartered Accountant is one who passes C.A exam and is awarded that degree.

An auditor is definitely is a Chartered Accountant who audits the accounts as per rules framed by ICAI.

A tax consultant can anybody out of following who advises on Tax matters

1. C.A /ICWA /CS
2. Lawyer
3. Any body who is authorised by the Chief Commissioner to practise tax matters.
