As long as your have a strong introduction and a quote that really has an impact on your entire paper, you should be bale to get away with having it in your introduction.

Definitely put it in the opening paragraph but only if it really applies to the entire paper and not just a single idea within the essay. It would probably be best to open up with the quote. Hope you get an A :D

If it's a quote that could stand alone, you could use it as a preamble to the paper - put it between the title page and the first page of the paper. If it can't stand alone, it might not be good to use it without setting it up for the reader first.

In the first paragraph is fine, but I generally wouldn't recommend putting in the the first sentance. There aren't a whole lot of rules for where you're "allowed" to put a quote, it's just a matter of what flows well.

You could get away with it if it's a good quote and it illustrates an important point in your paper, and you follow it up well. Otherwise I would strongly advise AGAINST doing so.

Usually, if it's a features articleor something like that, then you can just not have a lede. But for hard core news stories, you wouldn't put long quotes into the lede.

It's a paper YOU'RE writing. So make the first sentence your own. That's what I was taught anyway.

Yes, as long as its a good hook. If its a long quote, it better be a good and go along with the paper very well. (Make sure you cite your source!)
