Forget what you are going to find on-line. What is the true meaning of the name Nicole. I am under the understanding it means "one who cry's"

In other words a whiner maybe? Why would anyone name their kid this?

Victory of the People. The Nicoles I know, (myself included), are neither crybabies or whiners. In fact, my friend Nicole is very sweet and good at keeping secrets, but she askes a ton of questions and can get rather annoying.

No... it means Victorious... whether you spell it Nicole, Nichole, or Nicolette.
I'm having a girl in January... and that is what I'm naming her. My spelling is Nichole... Nicki for short.
