I think playing the same numbers is better because each time they DON"T pick your numbers, the odds increase that they WILL someday pick your numbers.

Playing the same numbers is a good thing if you want to wait like 8 years to finally win. Statistically, the rank of the balls being drawn tend to repeat quite often. So therefore, playing the same rank(s) increase your odds of winning. The ball placement will change from drawing to drawing. Play the same ranks and you will win far quicker than playing the same numbers. example you are playing a lottery that has 55 numbers. ranks 2,7,22,30.35,50 seem to hit more often than all the others. the numbers drawn change each drawing, but you notice that the numbers from each drawn ball fall in or around the same rank(the rank is based on how many times the ball has been drawn, and how often it reoccurs) get yourself a program of the web that ranks the balls from one drawing to the next. Mark each ball by rank, and watch how often it will repeat itself. You'll be a winner before you know it GOOD LUCK

It doesn't matter. The odds don't increase each time you play with the same numbers, because the lottery is still random. They don't remove certain numbers from the draw after they've been picked.

I have done a statistical study of Powerball numbers over a period of time and have found that certain numbers are more likely to come up than others. I believe that this is further proof that there is order in the universe and not disorder. However, if you believe in randomness in the universe, then you have the same dismal chance of winning as anybody regardless of which numbers you play.

the odds on the lottery are not cumulative. this means that every number has the same chance every time of being chosen. there is no benefit to playing the same numbers, unless it gives you some personal satisfaction. in california, the overwhelming majority of winner have been with quick pick vs people selecting their own numbers.
