I had been having this damn persistent fever for the past 2 weeks (between 37.4 degree celcius - 38.5). Did a blood test for dengue but showed negative ..doctor didn't even know what is it. Took paracetamol and it somehow controls the fever however once I stopped taking it, it goes back up ...

What could it have been the cause? Hepatitis?

he should refer you to infectious disease and run every lab test he can think of before he does........something major is going on and there are too many possibilities, if not treated whatever it is can cause irreparable damage.

Usually if you have a fever for more than 3 days, it's a good idea to see a doctor. If your temperature doesn't get any higher than 102 F, it might be best not to take the Tylenol, because fever is one of the ways our bodies fight off infection. Mayo Clinic has a very helpful sight that you might find useful.

A fever is usually caused by an infection of some sort. Have your doctor run other tests...or get a new doctor.
