Your jumping the gun on the Tigers I believe as with the Twins nipping at their heels it may very well be the Twins not the Tigers at Yankee stadium. Although as a Twins fan I think they may be better off with the wild card playing a west coast team first and letting the Tigers knock off the Yanks. Why not? Don't discount the Twins, they are scrappers.

i'd bypass with B. Like a brilliant form of individuals have already mentioned - the traditional season is so long and it is going to count quantity for some thing. that is ridiculous for an 80-win team to have domicile container over a team with greater wins. some divisions are susceptible, which bills for much less wins being mandatory to win the branch. I shop going lower back to three years in the past whilst St. Louis made the playoffs with, i think of it grow to be 80 wins. yet there have been approximately 3 or 4 different communities with better records that did not make it in.

In the first round, it'll be the Yankees and whoever wins the AL Central. Probably it'll be the Tigers.
Right now the Yankees will probably have homefield advantage in the ALCS, but it could change.

It probably won't matter because the teams with the best record hasn't won the World Series in seven years, and we've all seen how the yankees choke in the playoffs every year. In baseball, home field advantage doesn't mean as much as in football or basketball
since the pitching matchups change every game and standing in the outfield doesn't require as much energy from the home crowd.

The twins won't win the central, they lost to the Red Sox yesterday, and now the O's are up on them 5-1. Go Tigers, all the way!

Hard to say. Any of the 4 teams (Minnesota, New York, Detroit, Chicago) could end up with home field advantage. I don't know if it matters much...home field advantage hasn't done much for teams lately.
