My husband has just done something mad with his phone and when he switched it on it says sim card blocked and enter puk code. This phone is about 6 yrs old and any literature that came with it is long gone. Is there any way of getting the puk code or is the phone now useless? He uses it for work and a lot of his contacts can only reach him at this number. I'd be grateful if anyone could help.

Thank you all for your help. He actually went upstairs and found the document he got with the phone (as old as the Book of Kells!). It gave puk1 and puk2 numbers, also 2 pins. Its nice to know its still there because this man will probably do the same again next week! I'd like 2 give you all best answer if I could! Thanks again.

The puk code is nothing to do with the mobile. Its the sim card.Whatever network the fone is on,such as o2,orange,vodafone, t-mobile,etc.You can usually get the puk by searching your networks website.Theres usually a page where you can enter you number+ it will give you the relevant code.If not ring customer services. If you enter the wrong code too many times it will say blocked. If this happens call customer service+ you'll be sent a new sim.

Nokia Puk Code

that's what happened with mine too. it is actually not the NOKIA phone that has been blocked. it is the SIM CARD itself. the PUK is unique in every sim card. when you got a sim, you are usually given a slip of paper like that from the bank where your PUK is written. i don't think NOKIA can do something about it coz it's not a phone issue. you might try to call your service provider if they can provide you with the PUK. they usually can if it's a postpaid account.

are those contacts saved on the SIMCARD or on the phone? if those are saved on the phone, you might want to try to insert another SIM from the same network (other networks' sim will only work if the phone is open-line) and turn on the phone. you can see those contacts stored on the phone but not on the SIM

the phone is not useless... you can still use it for sure!

This happened with my husband's phone. He was messing with the security settings, don't enter a password into it more than 3 times or it will fry your sim card. Take it to a phone place (we went to the Cingular store because we have Cingular) but they can put it in the computer and figure out what your code is that's how we got my husband's phone to work. Worse case senario, you have to buy a new sim card for $25.00. Btw, the puk code will be the security password that he put in it.
