And then the next thing you know their cussing theirselves? If it's such a sin for kids to say it, it should be considered a sin when they say it also, agree?

Ephesians 4:29
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

If it's a sin it's a sin to all, and not only limited to children. It's disrespectful when anybody says it, not just children, and your a fool to believe that the bible gives special considerations to adults when it comes to a sin.

Yeah, I hate that. I don't do it, and my children know not to. Likewise, I don't choose to watch or listen to anything that I would be embarrassed if my children were to watch or listen to it with me. It's called being a good example. Children will forget what you preach, but learn most what they see you do.

Not trying to excuse the behavior but I believe the logic is that the parent doesn't want the kid getting in trouble at school for cussing. They think the kids will get in a bad habit and slip if they let them do it all the time. Adults are supposed to have self-control and know when its OK to cuss. If that's true, then they should know it is always inappropriate to do it around children, if they believe children shouldn't do it.

For the ones that are being completely hypocritical about it, its probably just a power thing (one more behavior they think they control). You can always tell the kids with parents like that, they cuss like little sailors when the parents aren't around.

A parent chooses to accept or decline this type of behavior. It has alot to do with the parent and his/her upbring. For example, I was not allowed to cuss (in front of my mom or dad) until I was out of high school. My father felt it was disrespectful to my mother. To this day Ive only heard her cuss a couple of times.(im 35 years old!) My wife on the other hand was allowed within reason to vent using swear words, when she was angry or upset. So, when our children cuss, I feel that it is somewhat disrespectful, but at the same time, if I choose to use those words to release my frustrations, they too should be allowed. I do not accept some words. Like the F bomb is strictly forbidden. And it is not used in normal calm conversation. But when upset, look out. My eleven year old can keep up with any drunken sailor on his worst day. Final: If you are going to use these words infront of your children, be prepared to hear them repeated too.

It is disrespectful for a child to curse, just likes it disrespecful when an adult curses. The only difference is the adult may already have that embedded in them and probably can't change, but you don't want to teach a child to be disrespeful to anyone. Same thing if you grew up poor, but want to never deprive your kids of something if you have the means. You always want better for your children.

i believe youre right, and i thank you, i need to control my mouth a bit better, i'm very consious of it, and its not bad, but because it used to be worse it still slips, and i hate it when it does, but I NEVER slip in front of my children, ever, thats so ghetto.

Because it's not polite and bad etiquette and manners. Even if they pick it up from other people in their environment, or from TV or movies, it'll get them in trouble.
