The vast majority of work at home careers do not require you to have any education past high school and require basic computer and phone skills.

If you want to persue a degree in criminal justice administration you need to realize that it is a very specialized degree. With an A.S. you can expect to work for private security firms, go on to persue a B.S. degree, or work in corrections facilities or in small local police departments or sherriffs departments.

Be careful in your choice of study if you want to do forensics. I have a Bachelor's in Criminal Justice, and after a year of searching, I JUST found a job. I had the same intentions as you...forensics. Given my experience in the job search, Criminal Justice does NOT meet the qualifications for a forensic career. Most likely, all you can get with this degree, especially an A.A. or A.A.S is a mental health job or an easier way into a police academy. When looking for a forensic job, I've noticed employers were looking for degrees in biology, mortuary science, chemistry, and even computer/engineering type jobs. If you really do have your heart on studying Criminal Justice, the best advice I can give you (and this is talking to professionals who HAVE been in the field) would be to go to a police academy after receiving your degree. After you gain experience as an officer, you can branch out into different tasks force involved with police work. I guess it also depends on where you live. You may be able to find a job at the medical examiner's office or coroner's office where you collect evidence at crime scenes. Even then, they prefer som type of scientific degree. Be sure to research what exactly it is you want to do so you can earn the right credentials to get there.
