Spelling corrections for above: lady instead of lay, and until instead of intil.

It's not against the law, but it isn't a nice thing to say.

Not being a lawyer, I can't give you a "professional" answer, but I doubt it's illegal. I can tell you of an interesting story about a person in Florida, maybe about 20 or so years ago, who sued another person for them calling them a "douche bag". This case acutally went all the way up to the Florida Supreme Court, if my memory serves me correctly, and the ruling was that there was nothing illegal about calling another person a "douche bag" in Florida, because no one could concretely identify what a "douche bag" really was, since there was no specific item called a "douche bag". So, if that's true, then maybe it's not illegal to say to another person "I hope you go burn in hell", but I'd be a bit fearful about what God thinks of it. He might visit your wish back on you, so, just be careful of what you wish on someone else. Oh, and I'd be careful if some "disenfranchised" person or "special interest group" hasn't got it listed as a "hate crime" by now. God Bless you.

There are a lot more deeds happening in this world right now that are more illegal than your above quote. Why do they go unnoticed? Are we all blind?

There are no laws against verbal abuse as far as I know. I could be wrong.

The muslims abuse us non muslims, in their Koran. How many muslims got punished for illegal activity?

So are a lot of others who do illegal things but get away through clever law suits or just abdicating. Saying something like your words is very ordinary compared to some massive stuff that goes on.

I would think that saying "I'm going to burn your house down" with a torch and a can of gas in your hand might be illegal, but I don't think telling someone you hope they burn in hell is illegal. It's not nice, but that's about it. Now, if your boss told you that, then you'd have a law suit.

I honestly don't think it is illegal, but it may fall back on you later on. IF for any out sorts reason that he actually ends up dead or anything. And there are witnesses that overheard you say it. It could fall on you. BUT freedom of speech is something that everyone has and I see it as threatening, but hey we all do it. So I think it can only be illegal to an extent.

Not in the USA, only in Islamic countries. Then again, it's illegal for women to show skin in some cases in these countries.

It is not illegal, but it is very rude. Also consider that it may be very bad for your health if you say it to the wrong person.
