I'm all for net neutrality, I believe in the free trade of information on the internet. I don't believe that the telecom companies should be able to take over and control the internet, then the internet would end up being just like cable tv. Now my question is where do you stand on this subject?

net neutrality IS what the internet is. if we changed that we would be changing what the internet itself was. however doing so might simplify the internet even more... eventually simplifying it to the point that computer are no more difficult to operate than the tv or an appliance. ..which is probably a good thing. also.... maybe terrorism ties into this somehow and we will be better able to protect our computers from attacks. with as much as we are becoming dependant on them an attack on our computers could severely cripple our country. it would bring us to our knees. and so by taking better control over the internet we might be able to protect ourselves better.

....there is always going to be the free trade of information. if i want to send you something i will be able to do that no matter what. and the people like programmers will always have access to the more inner workings of the internet and be able to go behind the user friendly wall put up by giant corporations.

i dont have a firm opinion on this yet.

I think it's a given: people don't like it, they won't stand for it, and it isn't going to happen.
