my wife wants me to dump all the female friends i grew up with. i've known them loger than i've known my wife. is it fair of her to demand such a thing?

i forgot to mention these female friends are 1000 miles away and i only talk to them once in a while on the internet.

Seriously, my fiancee and I have been through the same thing.
Most of his friends are female, I don't mind that, but I started getting pissed when he wouldn't ditch them for me. I'm the one he loves, I'm the one he is having sex with, I'm the one that buys him things, I'm the one he hugs and kisses at night, and I am the one that is there for him whenever, wherever. I explained to him that he has to realize who really comes first.
He finally learned and I come first.
She's your wife. If she wants you to dump your female friends; just listen to her. I mean, she is the one that is there for you constantly... and she may be insecure about things. If anything, compromise where you can still be friends with these women but not hang out with them much.

no. i can understand how it would make her uncomfortable though because my husband had a lot of friends that were girls. instead we only hung out together all as a group this way i didn't feel uncomfortable. now all of his girl friends are mine as well. some are closer to me now than him and his best female friend is our first Born's god mother. just talk to her about your feelings and listen to hers and i am sure you can find a common ground. also put yourself in her shoes. how would you feel if the tables were reversed? don't do anything that would make you uncomfortable on the other side. also remember a marriage is built on love, give and take, respect and trust.
