No politician in their right mind would kill a cash cow like pot. The Government makes more money trying to enforce an unenforceable law then if they legalized it. Most of the tobacco companies are all set for making MJ ciggs. ,And the gov would reap millions, if not billions. The prob is that a lot of enforcers would lose their jobs. boo hoo. Is it possible to elect an official to a position that will allow them to overcome the dumb-*** syndrome????

Because in order to be a politician you need to get the popular vote and unfortunately in most places around the country, legalizing marijuana isn't widely accepted or agreed upon. Sure, legalizing marijuana makes logical sense, however politics isn't necessarily logical.

Everyone in marijuana makes money except The users. Government can campaign on it, DEA and other cops need it to make their jobs valid, dealers make too much to want it legal , The only losers are The users. Not because pot is bad, because pot makes too much money

Not a question of politicians IQ's at all.
Look at statitics. No one has ever died of an overdose of pot.
Legalize it,regulate it,tax it.
No politician will ever endorse such a radical concept. The war on drugs creates vast amounts of cash which has a way of getting absorbed and unaccounted for.

Some are ignorant, some aren't that well educated, others are highly educated and smart. All are clever. When the right accepts pot, so will the politicians.

Ignorant to the society around them.
And some are ignorant to people around them.
Fear is mostly the reason for not changing with the times, fear they will lose certain groups of vooters.

Because legalizing mj isn't popular. They would be kicked out. If the polls change, they would do it in a heartbeat.

no, the masses are.
because they know whoever is responsible for the law will go into history under a negative light because it's a drug. A fearless politician would be the one to do it.

No, they are not ignorant, they know exactly what they are doing.
If pot wasn't illegal, then what would poor people do for money--there aren't enough jobs...and how else could we create so many government jobs?.........
Could you imagine what our unemployment rate would be if all the non violent drug offenders were out???
