Well, Wikipedia said its an adjective (describing word) meaning that "something (an object or system) consists of a diverse range of different items."

The human race is so heterogeneous that it's impractical to make any blanket statements....

And I used it in a sentance, too!!

heterogenous means coming from without; not arising with in the body....if you're talking about "heterogenous" as a term in chemistry though....it means a mixture which contains different substances that cannot exist as a solution in one phase ...meaning...you can recognize one substance from another in the mixture.......e.g. a mixture of waTER and corn
