Yeah, they can be hard to open.Hold the case so the writing is right side up. Hold the case in your left hand, and on the bottom and top right, there are 2 half circles.Put your left thumb and left index finger on the half circles, and pull up, holding the other half of the case with your right hand. If it cracks, or comes apart you can buy more empty cd cases at an Office Depot, or Staples.

Swipe any edge of the jewel case against a hard 90 degree corner such as a table or counter top (a glass, metal or stone surface). This will cut the plastic on that edge making it easy to peel away. To take off the tape that is on the top of the case, pop the bottom hinge to disengage the case from the cover and peel away the tape. Then it's very easy to pop both hinges back into place.

Pick up case.
Run the edge of the CD case (the label side) against the edge of the music store's check out counter.
It'll cut through the plastic and the annoying sticker label.

1) Place your left thumb on the right side of the case. 2) Place your right thumb on the same spot, just on the bottom part of the case. 3) Gently pull with both thumbs until the case pops open.

The plastic isn't hinged a approach or the different? often as quickly as I run accross this variety of equipment, the plastic swings in direction of the back of the field like a hinge and the field opens good up, then you extremely can close it back and replace the plastic to maintain the field from being accidently opened.

How to start? It's too complicated to explain here, , but I think you could buy this famous book they sell in Border's, it's called "CD case opening process FOR DUMMIES".
