Unfortunately all of the answers above are not from fellow Kiwis, and most do not understand the exchange rates between countries. If you had given a price in Japanese Yen, they may have totally freaked. LOL
According to google as of today:
100 New Zealand dollar = 65.98 US$
(or each NZ dollar is = 66cents US)
Games seem to typically cost so much for Kiwis and it might be the best you can do.
Here's some prices in NZ
http://www.gpstore.co.nz/Games/PC-Games/Strategy/Life-Business-Management/The-Sims/
At Zillion (Kiwi online auction) the price is $94.95
http://www.zillion.co.nz/auctions/1606089/
Unfortunately due to the markup, shipping and trade and the backward money transfer system, you will probably not save much money trying to get it from another country. I know this because I have done some business with Kiwi companies before.:(
At any rate, the expansion packs are half that price, so if you're going to be able to get the Sims 2 for PC, then go and get it.
To make sure it will RUN on your machine, run the Sims 2 test on your machine from this site:
The expansions will need yet more resources so they have separate tests:

Good luck!

Yeah, unfortunately, games do seem to be quite expensive when they first come out here in NZ (and I thought it had been out quite a while).
I'd give trademe a go. There seems to be quite a lot of demand out there for this game, but you may be able to save ten or fifteen dollars. Watch out for the price that people are charging for shipping though.
Not sure if this link will work, if not, just do your own search, I'm sure you've used trademe before.

Definately!!!!!! But try and see if you can get it cheaper first. If you can't, buy it anyway. It's like the best game ever!!!!
