i need to buy some things for my project which is on the element carbon. i already know that carbon has 6 protons, 6 electrons, and 6 neutrons. my friends are using styrofoam balls but i need something that isnt expensive and i will make a good grade on. please help!!!

The only thing I can suggest is use small rolls of balled up masking tape or other tape (taping the outside to make smooth and not sticky), then either paint them or use markers to give the differing colours. My daughter did this and still got a good mark for her carbon model. Toothpicks work well as the "bonds" between each.

Most dollar stores will sell small styrofoam balls for a lot less than the craft/hobby shops. If the tape doesn't work you can try looking in some of them if you have them.
