I have about 350 ebay transactions both as a buyer and seller and have never been cheated. I have had items arrive late and buyers that didn't pay in a timely fashion. I did have one seller who refused to sell me the item because he felt the price was too low. I would use extreme caution when using auction sites other than ebay. Many of those sellers are people that ebay threw off and they tend to show up on other auction sites that I won't mention. Check the sellers feedback rating and the length of time that they've been an ebay member. Read the sellers feedback before bidding.

Yes. I bought a book for my Stats class off of half.com. Needless to say I ordered it Aug. 22, paid about $100 for it, and I still haven't gotten it. I have filed a claim though-- I was told it can take up to 30 days to straighten out though. In the mean time I had to buy the SAME book from the University's bookstore for $150. If you want to buy anything from e-bay, I would suggest reading the feedback other buyers have left. It's usually a pretty good indication of what the seller is like. Good luck! :)

Well I ordered an unlocked version of an Xbox Hard Drive, which are usually around 10GB, but I ended up not needing it. Now when I got a free computer that is missing nothing but a HDD ( its old, and i was gonna sell it for like 20 bucks or give it away) and I realized that this thing only looks like an xbox hdd, but its actuallyt a 2.1 GB HDD.

Once a long time ago, I won and paid for a tshirt that I never got. It wasn't that much money....like $10. Other than that, I've only had good experiences with Ebay...both buying and selling and I've been on there 4 years.

Last Christmas brought something of eBay, never received the item... reported him to eBay and was able to get my refund through pay-pal... so all got sorted in the end. But i was really annoyed that it happened and it did take a month or so to sort out which was annoying!

yeah I bid on some crystal drop beads won, paid for them, I never got my item. I wrote to them numerous times and they always told me they were on the way, I waiting to long to report them to e-bay so there was nothing they could do. Don't always trust the ratings, because theirs were all good and I never got what I paid for. All I say is don't wait like I did to report someone, because if you wait then nothing will happen and they would just get away with it. I learned the hard way.

I have about 40 transactions , I did have a package that never arrived last Christmas season . But that was setteled to my liking . Check out the sellers rating ..Very Important !!!! I think its very reliable if you are educated on the items that you are bidding on .
