nope the prime minister makes all the decision based on votes by opposition parties
the royal family ( basically the queen ) is represented by our general governor
the general governor is in power only when there is no prime minister ( between elections)
this is a short answer but it pretty sums it all

The Queen now gets 15% of the Crown components earnings to fund the monarchy. The State keeps the different 80 5%. The earnings varies, even though it quantities to a pair hundreds of tens of millions of kilos consistent with annum. If it have been 2 hundred million kilos one twelve months, the Sovereign furnish would be 30,000,000 kilos. The monies paid to different contributors of the royal kinfolk in return for ending up royal engagements and so on, are paid by potential of the Queen herself, the two from the availability she gets or her very own wealth. Prince Charles's earnings comes from the Duchy of Cornwall, that's controlled as a employer and produces a income. to boot to being Prince of Wales, he's the Duke of Cornwall. Edit: I would desire to upload, some contributors of the royal kinfolk take exhilaration in self sustaining wealth. Princes William and Harry inherited tens of millions of kilos from their mom. although, William and his spouse acquire money from his father Charles, quite than the Queen, to cover expenditures of their first rate duties.

the royal family gets paid to sit on their arses and enjoy all these luxuries without doing anything to really run the country. i think the only reason the monarchy exists is because it is so engrained in the british culture. they probably can't imagine a great britain without it. don't be fooled though, tony blair has been calling the shots for some time.

The royal family are essentially supposed to be apolitical, however the Queen has a say. In Australia we have a Governor General who liaises with Her Majesty on behalf of our government.

They have virtually no power what so ever. After the charter was passed and signed to William and Mary their position in office had been at a minimal. Pride and culture is basically what keeps them up there.

No no no. At best they are on some boards as advisors, but there's no real power there now.

However, I think it is sweet that their country still regards them highly and respects and loves them...good for them.
