You need to assign more of the hard drive for use as virtual memory, but adding ram to the system would be even better.

The best way is to add additional memory sticks or, upgrade the memory. In Windows [XP] you can increase the virtual memory by selecting "System" from the control panel, click settings under "Performance" and then select the "Advanced" tab and under "Virtual Memory" click change. The "Initial Size" can be 0. The "Maximum Size" should be At Least 4x's the resident memory. If you have 256MB of RAM this should be set to 1024.

Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click System.
2. Click the Advanced tab, click Performance Options, click Change, set the "Initial Size" and the "Maximum Size" values for the paging file to 0 (zero), and then restart your computer.
3. Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click System.
4. Click the Advanced tab, click Performance Options, click Change, reset the "Initial Size" and the "Maximum Size" values to the recommended values for Windows 2000, and then restart your computer.
After you configure the paging file to an appropriate size, the temporary paging file is deleted and virtual memory errors no longer occur.

To work around this issue, create enough free disk space to accommodate the size of the temporary paging file.

More RAM isnt ganna help in this situation. Since programs are always stored on the hard disk drive and not the RAM. Check the swap settings. The quickest way is to buy a new hard drive much bigger then the other.

You may not have enough storage on the HDD for the swap file.
