Because we eat foods that are no longer whole. WE over process our foods and ontly put back in the vitamins that people recognize. Ever notice how everything has Vitamin C in it? Do you really think you need that much Vitamin C? It is cheaper and it appeals to the masses.
Eating fresh fruits and veggies and legumes and whole grains solves the problem, but how are you going to get a nation addicted to over-processed foods to do that?

This depends on where we live, and the lifestyles that we chose. many of us are lacking in vitamin D. This leads to symptoms that resemble fibromyalgia and depression along with many others. When we stress our bodies, we are using many essential vitamins. B's, magnesium, potassium... we can all be different. the foods we eat make a huge difference too. our foods today are over-processed and usually unhealthy. They are also lacking of any good fats (SO important!) Our vegitables and fruits are usually sprayed with pesticides and growth enhancers and irradiated to ensure a longer shelf life. This destroys natural enzymes needed to digest them properly. The nutrient contents are drastically reduced as well. A good scoop of a quality greens complex from a health store can help give you a huge boost. staying away from processed, pre-packaged and fast foods is very important. Add oils to your diet such as flax, olive, fish, etc. ....I'll stop harping now!
