Women seem to spend forever either buying make-up or putting it on, but is it worth it? I've always thought women were better off without it. Thoughts?

Good question.

I think women wear makeup for many reasons, but here are a few of mine:

--when you're little, wearing makeup seems like a rite of passage. If your mom wore it, you naturally want to. Kinda the same way little boys look forward to shaving their faces.

--the media tends to make women feel as if they have something to hide. A woman's zits, for example, are socially unacceptable, right? So she has to cover those. And then, gosh darn it, those eyelashes aren't long enough. Gotta lengthen those. It goes on and on and on...

--for me, makeup is also FUN! I love playing with colors and seeing what they'll do, even if I'm the only one who notices. It's a creative outlet.

--my husband really likes it. And that's reason enough for me.

I think I look better with a very minimal amount of makeup. I'm very pale and often my features look washed out. A little hint of blush and a little dab of eyeshadow always does the trick for me.

Going through that whole thing with foundation and powder and this liner and that liner is a whole other ballgame. I think it is completely excessive. Devils Advocate: But have you seen some of the women that work at MAC! I love what they can do. Some women can wear a lot of makeup and look gorgeous.

In the end, it all depends on natural skin tone and features and the like.

I think a little (little being the keyword!) make-up can enhance a woman's natural beauty. Like a little blush to the cheeks can add a glow and a little eyeliner can make the eyes pop.

There is almost nothing worse than when a woman applies too much make-up and looks like a clown! :D

Well, I just wanna tell you, that my mom is 40. And when she came by to pick me up, I though she was sick because her face looked like she had a cold. But she just told me that it's cause she forgot to wear her make-up. Haha. So, what Im tryin to say is that, it really depends. People with nice skin look nice without makeup. That's why some people put on moisterizers and stuff instead of makeup. ♥

They are some natural beauties out there but even the most beautiful woman in the world should wear make-up.Make-up extenuates and extricates women to look better.Ex.dark brown eyeliner top and bottom makes eyes appear larger.

The age matters, after 45, less is more. Young ladies really don't need it. Their skin is the best it will ever be.

Eyebrow are the frame of a woman's face, so if their eyebrows are sparse then they need to be filled in and mascara is great too. Lip gloss is good.

There you have it, Eyebrows, mascara and lip gloss makes for a natural beauty.

As a woman who used to wear minimal make-up (clear mascara, poweder for the shineys and a bit of blush) but as I age, I wear a bit more...

I'd have to say it depends on the woman. Some are blessed with clear skin, good color and long eyelashes...

Others have to fight blemishes or other age spots and need a touch of make up to make them selves look "normal".

I don't think it's EVER attractive when a woman wears pancake make up and tons of eye stuff.

I personally feel better when I put it on. But not too much because then I feel like a doll. I think I look a little better. I look like I actually tried instead of just rolling out of bed. Which I think is a better look...

Well, I don't wear makeup on a daily basis, only a little bit on special occasions. I prefer to go au naturale and it's better for your skin too! HTH : )
