for all of you who say rap and hip hop make no sense i just have to say Tupac, Jurassic 5, Jungle Brothers, De la Soul, and Lil' kim try listening to the lyrics and tell me it don't make sense, it's life, it's life how they and many others are liven. But I guess only those who are living it can truely understand the art and beauty in it. Don't get it twisted not all of it is like that but damn can't rappers have fun too. as for hip hop sorry that not everyone can be lonely, depressed, mad, or anything other than happy. hip hop just makes u want to dance why does everything have to have some big political statement behind it. Although I can NOT stand rap, it does have a good beat, makes people want to get up and dance and 99.9% of rappers are black where as 99.9% of the people that like it are of the same. If you listen to the words they're either talking about sex in the lowest manner, or about gettin high and doin' drive by's and once again, it's all in association within itself. (No offense to anyone).There is ONE song that I do like by Nas and thats only because he sings a song about the war and our fallen soldiers. It's a very nice song.

can I ask what rap you listen to that does not make sense. Rap is basically a style of poetry with a beat (and sometimes a bit more)....it is really not that complicated son, so stop the ignorance!
Most modern music is the same, including Metal / Thrash.

Rap and hip hop are an expression of certain ethnic and social groups. If it doesn't make sense to you, then don't worry about it. I mean, does EVERYTHING have to make frickin' sense to you?
