Try the Free Internet Chess Server (FICS) at www.freechess.org - They don't have formal lessons or anything but they have all strengths of chess players, from masters to beginners, and there's usually some people who will work with you to help you improve.

Its a great site for beginners. By the way, I find that offensive how you would assume that chess players are losers. I happen to be on my high school varsity chess team and am anything but a loser. Just think about how you word your questions.

Why bother with Yahoo Answers for such a trivial thing.
Have you tried google? Just type "Chess academy" or "Chess school" etc.
