Astrology claims that there is a connection between the date of someones birth and where the planets are aligned that results in particular events happening to such a person.

Sadly for astrologers, science does not back it up. If each planet exerts such a powerful influence on peoples lives, then what about predictions prior to the discover of Pluto 90 years ago?

All astrological predictions must have been based on only 8 planets, and thus logically have been wrong.

And now, after 90 years with Pluto, scientists are debating whether Pluto actually qualifies as a planet because of its different physical make up. Does this mean that all recent predictions are wrong instead?

No, astronomy is, but not astrology. Astrology is based on the ancient belief that how the stars are aligned when you're born affect your personailty and fate. However, whether they do or not, the stars have shifted enough since the time of the Ancient Greeks and Romans that we're not actually the sign that Cosmo might say you are.

Astrologers and 'fans' alike believe that celestial bodies have some kind of signifigance regarding personality traits and influence of people, especially their destiny.

Most modern astrologers believe that the cosmos act as a unit, that one activity will respond similarily elsewhere.

Just as bodies and constellations have very mythological naming systems (that are being continued today simply because of tradition), it's mere belief, not factual science.

Astrologers interpret the measurements of the planets in the sky and give "readings" to their clients, advising them about several aspects of life. So in this regard, you could answer your question, "Yes."

It's just a bunch of fun. It makes huge generalizations and sometimes they are pretty dead on but I could spend my life thinking I was another sign and think it was accurate then too.
