Ok. I don't believe in control population or facism like in China, but why can't we have a license to breed? We have to get a license to drive, to hunt, to boat, to fish, to practice-law, massage, medical, plumbing, and the list goes on. So why on earth are so many people allowed to breed stupidity into our society? I think there should be an age limit or IQ test. And if you don't pass the test, you get fixed for free. Look at all the 13-18 yrs. old single mothers that have no business having a kid when they are a kid themselves. Do you think people should be married or unmarried when they have a child, exluding divorce down the road? What requirements should there be if we had a license to breed? I'd like to know your opinions.

I don't think a marriage license is enough. Almost anyone can get married. I think the government needs to make sure they know how to actually raise a kid so it's not stupid.

abfabmom~ I think abortion was legalized in 1973. And as far as teen marriages go, I think it's 15 or 16 with parents consent in some states as the youngest age. Why don't we give 8 year olds birth control? How young will the birth age go? There is more than one side to the question I'm asking. and it seems a majority of the people answering don't even understand the question and make their own assumptions. And as far as speaking what is or is not constitutional, our laws change so many times, who can keep up with them? There will come a time where anything goes and humans have the right to do anything. Why have a law when we can't decide on anything permanent without constantly changing it til there is nothing left to follow is what I'm saying.

I'm not saying a license to have sex. Read the question. I'm talking about people who decide to have children either at a young age or aren't prepared financially or intellectually. They need to be better prepared. I'm not saying control people. Just make sure they know what they are doing with the kid. Raising a kid is a lot more than going to college and getting a degree. Yet most jobs or careers you have a license or degree to even get hired. But yet when it comes to having kids you are basically on your own. You people are reading into it a little too much. Chill out.

So if we aren't supposed to be told what to do with our own body then why do we have laws that make us wear seatbelts and helmets. Supposedly for our own safety. Mostly for the governments income in some cases. Why would it be any different to have some kind of guideline when it comes to the safety of a child having a parent with the proper knowledge to raise it and not just knowledge but maturity and responsibility to that child? Get a clue.

I agree completely.

I think it's ridiculous that you have to have a license to get a dog, but anyone can have a baby! A whole human life!!

At what point did society decide that it's okay for 13-year olds to be giving birth (or, God forbid, having abortions), but it's not okay for them to be on birth control to begin with?

I think that a person should have to prove that they have the financial and emotional stability to be a parent before they are allowed to enter the process of raising a child. I personally don't care if they're married or not, how old they are when they make this decision, or what their sexuality is, as long as they can be capable of teaching their children how to be good adults.

I can see what you are getting at. I agree that their are parents who should not be parents and teenagers should definitely not be parents. However,it will never happen. We live in a free society and nobody has a right to say who can and can't have children. The government couldn't possibly regulate a program that you suggest or any program that would regulate who has children. There just isn't enough resources available. This is not a perfect world and the only way we can improve is through education and individuals making the right choices which will unfortunately never happen. Besides an IQ test has nothing to do with parenting skills.

well for one its our freedom and right to do this, and this is the most stupid question i have ever heard or read. Yes there is to much Teen Pregnancys out there but its because the parents dont care what there child is doing. and it doesnt matter what your IQ is in order to have children, no there shouldnt be an age limit on it. Are you worried that you will have to support someone else because they made a simple mistake but yet they are trying to take care of there children, and i do not believe that having children are a mistake i see them as a blessing and a special gift. i was 18 when i had my first child, no i do not regret it, i have worked hard since i was young and my children know that i love them, yea we may recieve government health insurance for our children and yea some of us may even recieve help with food, but there are some of us who also work and struggle to make ends meet, yes there are some out there who only live off of the government when they can get out there and work but dont. i dont approve of it. i feel that if you need help and you work then by all means i feel its ok, but if you do not work and recieve the help and you can work its wrong get your *** up and get to work. I dont feel that Stupidity is breed into our society, but it has to do with the way a person is raised, there morals and values, everyone is raised with all differnt kind of beliefs, religion and the such. People are not "Allowed" to breed, they Choose to its not a crime to have sex and make a baby, if you feel this way then dont go and breed, if you feel that you are not or ever will be capabile to have and handle the responsibility of having being blessed with the gift of a child!

OK, look back in time at the age our grandparents and great grandparents were getting married and having babies. I know that it might sound wrong, but maybe stupid people having babies is not the issue as much as society deciding whom is stupid! I know many college educated people that would have a hard time opening a loaf of bread...yet society deems these people smart. I do not believe it is up to you or me to decide on who should be able to have babies. If you truly see this as an issue, then do something to help those stupid peoples baby's. I would have to guess that you care deeply about this because you seemed very passionate about your post.

Most parents are stupid! Most parents don't know a damn thing about raising children! Most learn from their parents, the good and the bad!

I know! I investigated child abuse for 16 years for our state and I have seen what parents do to their kids, including murder them!

We went the fixing route with the mentally ill! It was declared unconstitutional!

I think anyone who voted for Bush should be FIXED, as almost all the states that voted for him have an average IQ lower than his 91!!

License to breed!! Please go read the Constitution as you don't have a clue what it says! Maybe my expectations are too high, Bush doesn't know what it says either!!

And what has caused this shift in society where it is okay for 12 years old to get knocked up? Why is this an okay thing? Why do we reward people for these actions? We are going to need more than a license to fix the moral decay that is rampant and on kids television screens every hour of every day.

can i ask why you want to reproduce? Breeding could be completed purely after diverse analyze, with a mentor, and with the purpose of improving the breed (which given which you're breeding blended breed dogs you for sure are actually not), no longer getting funds. Are you waiting to settle for the actual and financial accountability of breeding a dogs. a sturdy breeder will purely breed 2 dogs that are compatible stability out one yet another's faults. a sturdy breeder will additionally do many well-being exams on their dogs formerly breeding, besides as having a catalogue of domestic dog purchasers formerly they breed so as that they make certain each and all the dogs could have sturdy residences. This international already has lots of homeless dogs available please do no longer make your self to blame for bringing extra into this international.
