It all depends on where I am and what I'm doing.
If I'm at the pub, I almost always drink Guinness, which is about as dark as they come. In my fridge I have both light and dark, a sixer of Stella Artois and a dozen Samuel Adams Boston Lager.
If I'm on the boat or beach, I like to drink light beer because the sun gets pretty hot and it's the closest thing to drinking water without actually drinking water.
If I had to choose only 1 type, I'd go for dark beer.

I like both, so if I was only having 1 beer, I'd drink a dark, if the mood strikes. If I'm going to be drinking well into the night, I'd rather go with the light, as not to upset my stomach as much.
