are you talking front or rear?. they are both essentially the same, but slightly different. first compress the shaft at the splines. THis may require removal of the grease zerk. the little thing where grease goes in when removed will allow the excess grease to be pushed out and the shaft to collapse completely. then make sure it is "in phase" this means that the ujoints are alligned correctly. The shaft should look like this ]------[ with the ujoints matched not off by 90*. Hope that makes sense, just look up "in phase" for more information and a picture. Then line up the bolt holes with the output on the transfercase. (helps to have it in neutral, the transfercase and tranny) then install the 4 bolts on each end and tighten. I recomend locktite here. don't want them coming loose, plus locktite will keep the threads from rusting.

then take her for a spin.

Good luck.
