I've experienced this sort of thing before. When you're young and you feel that its hard to express yourself, especially to those who you might really like because you're afraid they'll reject you, its not unusual for people in this situation to be hurtful to each other in rather devious ways.
The 'thinking' behind this, mostly unconscious I think, is that if you can get other people to 'out' your prospective partner first, then it makes approaching them with a sexual advance a bit easier. If they reject you, you save face because you can always say 'Well, everyone knows that 'he' was the gay guy, not me.' If he doesn't reject you, then 'mission accomplished' and you've entered a relationship in a dominant power position, because he's been outed and you are still 'safe.'
This all comes from the two of you being equally afraid to approach the other honestly. The human mind can event lots of clever ways to get around honesty if it has no other alternative.
My advice is: don't play the game. Be up-front and direct with what you want. Just walk up and kiss him. Its really that simple.

It means that people are telling the truth around school and so what...you are and big deal...they will get over it and if they don't well once you are out of high school who will care...and waht will it matter ...kids in school can be mean an cruel...it just means Chris may have been playing you to tell his friends and make fun of you or someone else has caught onto the signals you send and is calling it for what it is. Dont stress focus on school and worry about boys when you are in college...

Try talking to him outside of school about it.
As for the rumors, if you like boys, and aren't really good at hiding, you're probably going to encounter them. Maybe you should just come out.

As for this other guy, I think if its been going on for three years, you should be talking to HIM, not writing to Yahoo.!
As for the rumors, just tell people that gossip is an hurtful thing and leave it at that.

okay, i have read several of your posted questions, and i'd really like to talk to you! i know it doesn't seem like i would understand, being female, white, and straight, but i just feel like i get where you are coming from. i am christian, and also struggle sometimes with spiritual questions and issues. please email me, if you like, and we can talk. there may be a few things i can help with, as i am particularly interested in the quandary over religion and homosexuality. i also have experience being depressed & suicidal.
