In most states you are probably over-qualified as a teacher's aid. Most aids bring only common sense and maturity to the job - no degree. As for transfering your credits from your associates degree, that depends on the college you will be applying to. But I would expect that most, if not all, would be accepted. One thing that you didn't ask, and it's important: all colleges have a time limit on accepting prior or transfered credits. At UConn it used to be 7 years, so don't wait too long before applying. Good luck!!!

Absolutely! I'm a senior early childhood major right now. My aunt is a teacher's aide currently. She had very little college course work. She has been employed with her school district for 15 years. We live in the state of Ohio. You should have no problems! Congratulations for wanting to become a teacher! You are choosing a great field to enter!

Good luck and have fun :)

Yes, you can be a teachers aid, for pre-school or any other school (at least in CA).

In CA they just enacted the "no child left behind" law, which, amongst other things, state that TA's need at least an AA.

For preschool, you only need 6 units to be a TA and 12 to be a teacher.

Good luck and more power to you!!!

Maybe, there is a chance that a school will let you go around with another teacher and they will teach you how to be a teacher!!!!

You can go to teacher's college with credits earned if you are in Canada, elsewhere I 'm not sure.
