I mean my best friend is gay and people are always like so mean to her. Juat people she loves differently. I mean people need to stop bringing the Bible out on her. Why do people have to be so closed minded when it comes to that?I mean not like it is a bad thing!

Physically there is nothing wrong with gay people. Just like there is nothing wrong with blakc people, asians, or women. I mean just becuase people love differently than others do people think there is something wrong.

But mentally they are going crazy inside because they see how people look at them and they see how people talk about them. So they really hope that peoples ways will come around or else they will always be looked at always be talked about and no body wants that. No body needs that but it still happens no matter what some people think and no matter what some people will do to help some people will never turn around.

The people that bring out the Bible are only using that as an excuse because they don't have anything left or else to say. They believe that they can pick and choose any scriptures they please and interpet it any way they please. That is why people need to read the Bible themselves because different people intrepret things in different ways and you can't get someone elses interpretations because only you can decide what you think it means.

The only reason they do all these things is because people are closed minded. They can't see outside the box and be open to the different possibilites in life. People don't like what they don't understand. And they don't really understand gay people so they say bad things about them, but the sad thing is 10% of people are gay and well one of those people could be their kids, brothers, sisters, or other family members that are scared to come out of the closet because of the mean and hateful things that the people in their families say. So they end up waiting until they leave the house and right a letter or something to aviod face-to-face confrontation with them to avoid what they might say or do to them.

The religious zealots who bring out the bible have bought into this book as being a factual account rather than the set of metaphors designed to help teach people how to live.
Religion is the re-telling of myths and metaphors for the purpose of teaching, and rituals to "re-live" the myths and metaphors, also for the purpose of teaching. That some have chosen to believe in the bible as accurate historic record fail to notice a number of things, the most important being that just the translation from the Greek and Hebrew has changed the meaning of many words used, not to mention the loss of the intent behind the words.

So many people bring out the Bible and pick and choose what they want. How can they base their argument on the Bible and tell me I'm going to hell when they are told by this book to "judge not lest ye be judged." Unfortunately many people live in a world of ignorance and think that we as humans chose our sexuality. I live by one phrase "You have the right to offend, and the right to be offended." People need to get over themselves and their religous ignorance. Not to say there isn't a God cause that I do not know, but show some love for everyone whether you agree with them or not. WE ARE ALL HUMAN!

I will tell you it is not just people being mean to gays, straights, whites, blacks etc. It is that the world is not very accepting of something different than what they are. And I believe people just throw the bible at people, because they don't know what else to say and they believe that if they say "God" that it will change someones mind, what it is to me is people judge, we all do it. It is not right, but that is the way of the world today. Just stick by your friend all that will pass in time she just has to stay strong.

More than that. The Bible talks a heck of a lot more about love and tolerance than it does about gay sex! And it NEVER talks about gay people, back when it was written they didn't understand homosexual love at all. They just knew about abusive and violent acts involving same-gender sex acts. But there are half a dozen mentions of those, and about 1600 mentions of love!

So those people who bring out the Bible on her are just looking for an excuse to abuse her. The Bible is no evidence on their side!

To a lot of people it gets to the point where's it's just SO unnatural to look at, or to know it's even out there, they just want it to STOP. And I know it's coming from a lot of parents now a days because they want to protect their kids from it. And so many people now are saying its ok and they don't want their kids to be exposed to it so they get offensive. How do I know this? Because I AM one of those parents. I took my kids out if school thanks to it. I started homeschooling. My kids have no idea what "gay" is, so that is why some people are getting very offensive to the subject. And it's not just people with kids, its people that just don't want it to be in this world. So we have to deal with it. It's not always easy to keep perfectly quiet about it.

Good statements! There is nothing wrong with gay people. And I just hope you humans will learn to come together as humans instead of being split in so many different religious, racial, ethnic and sexual oriented cliques. Some day, my people will invade and wipe you out otherwise.

The answer is that they don't have to be so close minded ... and, more and more, they aren't.

Thanks for your support and understanding. It means a lot.

this is a really hard one for me, because i am christian. but i really don't like the way a lot of christians attack gays. i think that EVERYONE needs God in their lives. and once you have God in your life, i would say, pray and ask God what He wants from you, and don't be afraid, because whatever that is, it is always good, coming from God. but i say listen to God, not to people who seem motivated by things that i think should be secondary to relationship with Him. personally, i love gays, as i love everybody, and since i happen to be straight, i don't really feel qualified to make that call.
