Not all GTAs are new games. :) The first one came out about 8 years ago.

Most of the heavily advertised games are about 'bad' things - but then again, Kingdom Hearts 2 had a LOT of commercials - and that's about a nice, good, wholesome character who does some really great things trying to help his friend.

Plus I think a lot of people overlook the fact that someone who started out with an original Nintendo at the age of ... oh .. 5 or 7 or 10, and who continued enjoying video games through their life is now 20 or 30.

Tastes change as you age, and the more realistic and gritty 'bad' games have their appeal- and some have pretty incredible storylines.

The bad games aren't really geared toward kids - most gamers are over 18 (seriously), and can handle the adult themes, and may enjoy an outlet from life.

Plus, there are a freaking TON of nice games. Go to a store- you'll find maybe 1 in every 20 games is one like you describe.

Because it's more exciteing to do things we can't do in real life. This includes committing crimes we would never do in real life.
